Item Description
7/8" cello w/a 5" long oil cloth ribbon attached under spring pin. Smudge in field of ribbon and moderate handling. Fine. Button is Exc. Political winds were shifting during the 1934 PA gubernatorial race. William Schnader, the Attorney General and Republican nominee against George Earl, saw split ticket support as illustrated in the Oct. 14, 1934 Philadelphia Inquirer article "Democrats Seized By Panic As State Drive Nears Close" w/quote from Lillie D. Bergey, who worked for Earl at the DNC, supporting the GOP candidate. This badge was targeted at those waning Democrats to convince them to split their ticket. Only the third we've seen in our 54 years.
