Item Description
1.75" without dot pattern and paper of Chicago's American Badge Co. . Button shows the famous "Duncan Sisters" with one in black face as "Topsy" and the other as "Eva" in their signature roles in a 1923 musical comedy derived from the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. The sisters began their stage career in 1911 and became stars on the vaudeville circuit as well as in night clubs and on stage in both New York and London. "Topsy & Eva" was a huge hit in its day and inspired a 1927 silent movie which included some scenes by famed director D. W. Griffith. We've seen only four  in five decades. NM. Alan Weinberg Collection. See them on previous pocket mirror.
