Item Description
2.75" by Cruver c. early 1900s. This superbly tinted real photo of an illustration cello wrapped safe has a trick feature. When lid is lifted to access matches, the opening is blocked by a cello sheet on a metal cover reading " Matches Inside/Press the secret spring/A postcard to us will tell you how/We're always ready to serve you". The spring is located on the right side edge about .75" down from the top. When pressed, the metal plate flies up granting access to match compartment. A gorgeous, rare and NM safe.
