Item Description
Established 1910, this 1.25" is the earliest dated button we know of for this granddaddy of rodeos. Soon to be famous movie star Hoot Gibson was the overall 1912 Champion. This has lightly worn Carroll, Chic. back paper. Surface a hair concave. Exc. Second is big 2.25" w/St. Louis Button Co. paper. Shown is titled photo with "© Lee Moorhouse" who was a photographer and Indian Agent for the Umatilla Indian Reservation. From 1888 -1916, he produced 9,000 photos devoted to life in the Columbia River Basin. Button c. 1915, rare and NM.
