Item Description
17.5x23" print on parchment-like stock features art by Vaughn Bode (1941-1975), an American Underground cartoonist and illustrator known for his character Cheech Wizard and his artwork depicting voluptuous women. A contemporary of Ralph Bakshi, Bode has been credited as an influence on Bakshi's animated films Wizards and The Lord Of The Rings. Art features moonlit gargoyle and was originally drawn by Bode Nov. 2, 1965, during his days as an art student at Syracuse University. ©1977 Mark A. Feldman. This is the only numbered print of his artwork from Bode's student days. Issued as a limited edition of 111, lower left has been hand-numbered "81/111" in pencil. Exc.
