Item Description
6x22-3/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by Krazy Kat creator George Herriman (1880-1944) for April 7, 1921 daily strip. Strip features six panels, showing Ignatz seeing Krazy Kat's footprints in the snow, following the trail from Krazy Kat's house to Officer Pupp's, which causes Ignatz to promptly give up the game, complaining "Rotten Hunting." First panel has Int'l Feature Service Inc. copyright strip/ Herriman has signed and dated last panel. Back has mailing label from Disney artist Earl Duvall along w/stamp. Artboard has obvious aging and margins have been trimmed w/slightly uneven top margin edge. Margin edges also have some slightly darker aging and upper left has spot of staining. Art has a few tiny spots of staining in third and fourth panels, but o/w remains clean. Fine overall, but would make for nice framed display. From the Estate of Disney Artist Earl Duvall, known for his work on Disney comic strips in the early 1930s and for a handful of animated short films he directed at Warner Bros. Cartoons.
