Item Description
34" rolled cardboard cane w/wood tip end. Listed in Threads of History as plate #826 on p.333. Shaft has a 12" long applied paper label featuring McKinley portrait w/name above. Darkened and aged w/minor losses. When wooden top is removed an internal dowel pulls out to reveal a rolled 10x15" jugate cloth flag. Flag has only minor edge wear w/portraits & text remaining bright and clean. Extremely Fine. A rarely offered and exceptionally vivid campaign artifact of the famed torchlight parades of the era.
