Item Description
Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here is 11-1/8x14" artboard w/applied sheet of vellum featuring pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) for one-page story w/"-- And We Don't Have To Tell You What Happened Next!" stat title paste-over at top. From series of similarly-themed cartoons published in 1970s Peterson Publishing title (either Hot Rod Cartoons of CARtoons). Great cartoon image of two women standing behind dragsters, who are just about to take off. One woman model a "dress," which is reality if the deployed drag chute flowing from "Next's 'Chute" package of back of dragster. Needless to say the woman is in for an abrupt shock. Partial McCarthy name incorporated into sign at upper right. Art remains clean and Exc. Errol McCarthy Collection.
