Item Description
Wonderful set of seven boxed Dwarf dolls, each approx. 7" tall. Produced by famous English toy and dollmaker Chad Valley, c. 1938. Dolls come in complete set of eight original chipboard boxes, covered in six different styles of paper, each w/large end labels w/"Chad Valley Hygienic Art Dolls" text and all have character name stamped on end label, these show some scattered fading/staining, but all names remain legible. Box stamped "Happy" has been crossed out, w/"Bashful added underneath. All labels also feature "Distributors - Geo. Borgfeldt Corporation" address inkstamps. Aside from some label aging/staining, boxes show very little wear, w/Dopey having 1" lid corner split and some corner creases, but o/w boxes are Fine to VF overall. Dwarf dolls have cloth bodies/arms w/pants sewn onto bodies, cotton twill jackets, mohair beards and felt hats. All have molded faces w/expressive painted features. Each has 1.5" long double-sided string tag attached to arm w/character name on one side along w/"From The Film Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs" text. Reverse has maker name as well as "By Permission Of Walt Disney - Mickey Mouse Ltd." text. Dopey and Sneezy also feature cloth string tags attached to belts w/"Made In England" text. Doc is complete w/original celluloid glasses. Dolls are in choice, Exc./NM condition as are tags. Amazing complete set w/original boxes and in choice condition. As nice as these come.
