Item Description
2.25". Despite Ike's many attempts to quell interest in his candidacy in 1948 support persisted in the Democratic Party to nominate him in place of the nationally unpopular Truman. We find no reference to this button or slogan in historical databases and this is the only example we have encountered in our 54 years. Construction and slogan indicate this is likely a 1948 piece, perhaps used at the Democratic National Convention. Short hairline scratches of note in field at 5 o'clock and at outer edge 10 o'clock. Otherwise light surface wear. Exc. An important opportunity to obtain an impressive Ike rarity and one of the 'trophy' pieces of the John Pendergrass Collection.
