Item Description
Vintage 8x10-1/8" glossy publicity photo shows Olympic gold medalist Jesse Owens (1913-1980) holding the four gold medals he won (as well as standing in front of other awards and accolades) at the 1936 Olympic Games, held in Berlin, Germany, where he was credited w/crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy. Photo has been inscribed/signed in black felt tip pen at upper right, w/Owens signing "To Debbie, Cindy & Sandy - My Sincere Greetings To Three Very Nice People." Inscription has some scattered smudging (that also slightly affects Owens' signature on left), but all remains legible. Photo has some scattered handling wear w/corner creases at upper right and lower left (left crease measuring 6.75"). Fine overall. Scattered spots of staining along bottom margin. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
