Item Description
5" dia. and 1.25" deep. Produced in the late 1830s in France for the American Market. Gold trim highlights frame a finely detailed portrait of the 8th President. Illustrated on p. 255 of David & Linda Arman's book Anglo American Ceramics where they note "From A Group Of Six, Discovered By The Legendary Connecticut Antique Dealers Rockwell And Avis Gardiner In The Early 1980's." Only trivial wear and no restoration. NM. A trophy Van Buren artifact from the Mike Nichols Collection.
