Item Description
Issued c. 1916, this unnumbered set of 97 approx. 6" long mini felt pennants featuring attached bw player photo and player's name/team. Pennants were given away as premiums w/purchase of 5¢ loaves of Ferguson Bakery Bread in the Roxbury, MA area. It is believed that each player can be found on several different colors of felt. Offered here is lilac pennant featuring Rube Marquard (1886-1980), a pitcher who saw his greatest success w/the New York Giants, where he played 1908-1915. HOF 1971. Pennant lists his name as well as "Superbas" team name. Pennant has even fade and some scattered age spotting w/foxing to pennant tip. Fine overall.
