Item Description
2.25" litho. L. J. Imber Co. of Chicago. Issued as a sale clerk's exclusive button with text "I Am A Thrifty Co-Worker For Joe Louis World Champion Cosmetics." Button design includes small boxing glove images. Nice portrait of the boxing legend at center. The Brown Bomber reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949, and is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. His 66-3 record included 52 wins by KO. His immense popularity can be seen with this rather odd product endorsement for a boxer. Exhibits typical surface wear prone to this button including scuffs, rubs and scratches. Tiny spot of paint missing from bkg. to the right of his image. VG. A very desirable Louis button. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
