Item Description
1.75". No maker. 2" attached ribbon reads "World Series 1931." This is worn, tattered and frayed but text is still legible. Button features a slightly different take on the classic cardinal on bat logo. This 1931 Cardinals ball club dominated the National League during the regular season, finishing with a record of 101-53 under manager Gabby Street. A total of five National Baseball Hall of Famers played for this team, everyday regulars, Jim Bottomley (1B), Frankie Frisch (2B) and Chick Hafey (OF) along with starting pitchers, Burleigh Grimes and Jesse Haines. St. Louis would go on to win an exciting seven game World Series, defeating the mighty Philadelphia Athletics from the American League. Trace of oxidation on metal back. Front is bright and glossy w/almost no surface wear. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
