Item Description
13.5x21-7/8" thin artboard features pen and ink original art for page 30 of Cowgirl Romances #14, published by Fiction House 1951. Art is by Bob Powell (1916-1967), a comic artist known for his work during the Golden Age of comics, including Sheena, Queen of the Jungle and Mr. Mystic. Powell also did the pencil art for the iconic bubble gum trading card series Mars Attacks. Top margin has printed "S.M. Iger" studio name and address w/inked title and issues/page numbers. Bottom has blue pencil notations at printed areas and some scattered penciling, including "Arrow In My Heart" story title. Art features seven panels (eight counting text panel) and shows men dressed as Native Americans being ambushed by US Cavalry forces, only for them to reveal that an attack on the nearby Pawnee tribe is about to take place. Artboard shows moderate handling wear w/creases and has .5" and 1" tears at center right margin and scattered staining. VG/Fine overall.
