Item Description
Large 17x22" stiff paper promotional poster for U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots promotion features great illustration by Jack Kirby of Thor (Kirby's name appears on Mjolnir), Captain America and Spider-Man handing out toys to children, one of whom wears a "Marvel Mania" shirt. ©1969 Marvel Comics Group. These posters were issued in two varieties, in bw and color and are identical in design aside from some minor details including title on box in front of Captain America and child's shirt. This is much rarer color version. Poster has never been folded but shows moderate handling wear w/handling creases and some small punctures by Captain America's face. Lower right has 1/8x7/8" strip of missing paper at edge and lower right shows moderate creasing. VG/Fine overall. A rare and desirable 1960s Marvel item. Just the second example we've offered.
