Item Description
Set of 10. Each 3.5x5.5”. ©1903 Burr McIntosh. Each is numbered with caption at bottom. Cards have Buster and Tige in runaway car going through town, scaring horse, racing black kids in car named “De Green Spook,” being stopped by donkey, using sail with Tige at ship’s wheel in back, bursting through beer wagon, Little Mose in the back picking up The Yellow Kid, speeding past constable and ending up wrecking. The Yellow Kid appears on 5 cards. Three have purple ink stamp of N.Y. automobile supply dealer at upper right in .5x1.25” area. Cards #1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 are postally used with hand-written note in ink at blank right margin. Two card backs are tan. Overall cards are Fine to VF with clear image area. Nice art by creator R.F. Outcault.
