Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box w/soft foam wrap and cardboard head insert contains 5" tall painted die-cast metal and plastic figure GA-45 of the titular hero from The Kagestar, a Japanese tokusatsu (live-action film or TV drama that features considerable use of special effects) series produced by Toei Company, premiering April 5, 1976 and running for 34 episodes. Figure is complete w/all accessories, including thin vinyl Evel Knievel-inspired cape. Made in Japan for the Japanese market by Popy as part of their Chogokin (line of die-cast metal robot and character toys sold in Japan) line, 1976-1977. Box has original Japanese Toei sticker and shows lt. corner tip wear. Box is Fine/VF. Comes w/worn illustrated instruction sheet and factory-sealed plastic bag containing Kagestar's spring-loaded Flashlight Gun, which fires included projectiles. Bag also includes Popy catalog. Figure comes w/plastic stand that holds batteries within base. When plugged into back of Kagestar's back, this causes his eyes to blink off and on in conjunction w/screen showing female sidekick Belle Star that is revealed when chest is opened. Works. Some minor folds to cape but o/w NM. Wonderfully designed set.
