Item Description
10x13.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish Marvel Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Moon Knight #8, which reprints Moon Knight Vol. 1 #17 and #18 and was published in Spain by Mundi/Linea Surco in 1983, ©1981 Marvel Comics Group. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing Moon Knight, very different from Marvel's cover art by Denys Cowan/Joe Jusko. Show's two different angles of villain Master Sniper and Moon Knight falling, all inspired by original story art. Back of artboard has handwritten "C Luna 8" at top in pencil. Artboard remains bright, clean and Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish Marvel comic books, featuring one of Marvel's classic characters and is signed by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
