Item Description
"The Cinnamon Bear" program first aired in 1937 as a syndicated Christmas tale for children that was broadcast five times a week between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The 26 chapters told the adventure of Judy and Jimmy Barton as well as Paddy O'Cinnamon, who travels through Maybe Land in search of their stolen silver star. The show was aired annually and sponsored by department stores but Weiboldt's of Chicago issued the only 1940s premiums discovered to date. Offered here is lot of three 1940s/1950s premiums. 1-1/8" dia. litho "Weiboldt's Cinnamon Bear TV Club" button has 1-7/8x2" die-cut paper hanging of Cinnamon Bear's head w/bow tie. Button has some scattered surface wear and hanger has two pinpoint holes and 1/8" tear where connected to button. Fine overall. 4x4" thin foil star ornament has embossed Cinnamon Bear image and "Merry Christmas - Paddy O'Cinnamon" text. Exc. Rare. 1.75" tall tab w/"Weiboldt's" name on front and brass luster back w/"Weiboldt's - Tune In The Cinnamon Bear W.G.N. 5:30 PM Daily Except Sat. & Sun." text. Tab shows lt. wear and is VF. Rare.
