Item Description
19.75x14" artboard has mixed media original art signed by comic artist G. Verdu. Cover is for the Spanish edition of "El Hombre Enmascarado" #39, which was published in Spain by Valenciana as part of their Del Colosos Comic line in 1980. Artboard has image area measuring 8.75x12.5" showing art for "The Revenge of Sir Thomas" cover story by Ulh Granberg, w/The Phantom head in the background and a swordswoman w/skull and candle in the foreground. Jaime Vallve provided the interior art for this comic book. Top margin has handwritten "H. Enmascarado" title and "No. 39" designation. Art has aged vellum overlay taped at top. Artboard has some lt. aging/handling wear, but art remains bright, clean and Exc. A great example from Verdu, who worked on Spanish Phantom comics. Unique. Cover and contents were exclusive to the Spanish market and saw no US counterpart. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this cover art was created for.
