Item Description
Lot of two originals from the 1970s. 9x11-7/8” canvas artboard has acrylic painting showing two nude women bound with bloody stripes from whip being wielded by villain who is being stopped by the Spider. Spider is also firing pistol at villain’s scantily-clad female accomplice. Signed in black ink at bottom margin “R. DeSoto.” Exc. Comes with 9x13-7/8” sheet of tracing paper that has pencil image rough design for the painting. Sheet has numerous handling creases and is VG. DeSoto did many pulp covers in the 1930s and 1940s including his wonderful Spider covers.
