Item Description
2x2.5" overall. 1.25" long figural horse and rider at top w/pin-back. Attached is intricately detailed 1.25x1.5" jockey cap in high relief w/detail including brass hat band. Cardboard shield is attached to horse and cap w/text at top "National Sweepstakes." When cap is lifted a jugate image is revealed w/text "Cleveland Will Win The Race." Back of shield has lengthy text full of horse race jargon and refers to McKenzie, Kentucky (in the center of horse race country) as seconding Cleveland's nomination at the St. Louis convention. Lengthy text mentions his Buffalo, NY and New York state races both of which he won. It predicts his victory in the upcoming 1888 election. A spectacular and intricate novelty much to the delight of Cleveland, Kentucky, New York and general political collectors. VF. A marvelous piece w/oodles of charm
