Item Description
3-1/8" long including 1" dia. brass medallion. Reverse of token reads "National Working Men's Protective Tariff League Washington 1894 April 20-21." Tarnish at edges of medallion and handling wear from moderate use. VF. Delegations arrived by train and marched down Pennsylvania Ave. in protest of the Wilson-Gorman Tariff Act. The event was in close proximity to the arrival of Coxey's Army w/popular media of the era comparing the two events, one noting that "Crusaders" of the WMPTL "Travel In Passenger Coaches Instead Of Boxcars." This is the first example we've encountered in our 54 years.
