Two piece brass badge 2.5" tall with top star w/reverse bar pin picturing and reading "1895/1899/Maximo Gomez". Below suspension with USA flags, eagle and white peace dove has Spanish text translating to "Remembrance Of The First Celebration Of The Independence Of Cuba". Gomez was Cuba's military commander in their War of Independence 1895-1898. First seen historic first anniversary badge from 1899. Reverse names maker Robbins of Attleboro, MA.
