Item Description
1.5" w/metal back and bar pin by Bastian Bros. Pictured are George Addes and Richard Frankensteen of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. c. 1943 when Addes was UAW Secretary-Treasurer. Frankensteen was one of the UAW organizers brutally beaten by Henry Ford's hired goons at the famous Battle Of The Overpass in 1937. The event sparked his rapid rise within the union hierarchy. Diagonal surface indentation in field below portraits. Otherwise, light wear in reflected light. Exc.  Medal has factory scene at center w/additional text "Honor Award" on front. Reverse has text "The Officers Of Your Int'l Union Appreciate Your Loyalty In The Fight To Improve American Labor Conditions." Moderate wear from circulation. Fine.
