Item Description
1.25" w/union back stamp and bug on curl at 6 o'clock. Trivial air marks in field at top left. Almost no surface wear even in reflected light. NM. SSOC operated as the defacto arm of Students For A Democratic Society (SDS) in the American South and was allied w/the Student Non Violent Co-ordinating Committee (SNCC). The group saw itself as distinctly Southern as reflected in this slogan used in 1968 to encourage Southerners to "secede" from the Vietnam War. See lots #532, 534 for additional SSOC buttons and additional history.
