Item Description
10x14.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish Marvel Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for the Spanish Los 4 Fantasticos V3 #18, which reprints US Fantastic Four #32 (second half of story) and #33 (featuring Attuma) and was published in Spain by Mundi, Marvel Comics Group, c. 1977. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing an original image. US issue cover for #33 was by Kirby and Stone. Art area measures 10.5x14.5"and goes edge to edge. Back of artboard has handwritten "Fantasticos 18" at top in black felt tip pen and a few tape spots. Artboard has some minor corner tip wear but o/w art remains bright, clean and Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish Marvel comic books, featuring one of Marvel's most popular superhero teams. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
