Item Description
13x17" frame has 9.5x13-3/8" opening under glass w/oil painting original art used for cover to Frank O'Rourke's 1948 Wild West paperback. Art is by Earl Mayan (1916-2009), an illustrator whose early career spanned the era of pulp magazines to the post World War II years alongside Norman Rockwell at The Saturday Evening Post. Art shows woman greeting American calvary unit as they return to New Mexico frontier fort. Art has some scattered flaking to area around lead calvary officer and is Fine overall. Comes w/copy of paperback this cover art was created for.
