Item Description
15x20" artboard contains mixed media original art for back cover to Tarzan's Jungle Annual #5, published by Dell 1956. Art is by Jesse Marsh (1907-1966), whose main claim to fame is his work on the early Tarzan comics published by Dell and later Gold Key Comics. He was the first artist to produce original Tarzan comic books (up to that time, all Tarzan comics were reprints from the newspaper strips). Art shows Tarzan leading elephant charge from atop large bull elephant. Comes w/double-mat and ready for framing. Exc.
