Item Description
14x19-3/8" Whatman Drawing Board has mixed media original art for cover of 1960 British Wagon Train Annual, distributed by World Distributors. Art is by Walt Howarth (1928-2008), a British illustrator best known for his work on numerous British comic annuals (most of them for World Distributors) in a career that spanned 60 years. Art shows Wagon Train stars Ward Bond (who passed away in 1960) and Robert Horton w/wagon train behind them. Image area measures 13x16.5". Art has hand-painted title at top and qlong right (spine of published hardcover). Howarth has signed at lower right. Board has printer tape at top/bottom left corners and board shows moderate corner tip wear w/creases and pin holes. Fine overall, but image remains bright and clean and would display nicely if matted and framed. Comes w/COA signed by Howarth.
