Item Description
17x29" stiff paper poster features great artwork by Celia Strain of C-3PO wearing headphones and standing by radio microphone as TIE Fighter zooms through space behind him. Poster is for 1981 NPR program promoted as "The Biggest Box Office In Movie History Is Now A Stunning Stereo Radio Experience. Listen To The Adventures Of Luke Skywalker As He And His Friends Confront The Empire In 13 Exciting Episodes, Exclusively On National Public Radio Stations Nationwide." This serialized radio version of the film expanded on the story w/extra scenes and utilizing the film's distinctive sound effects and John Williams' iconic score. Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels reprised their roles as Luke Skywalker and C-3PO as scripted by Brian Daley (from Lucas's novelization) and directed by John Madden. Bottom of poster has attached printed slips w/Omaha, NE radio station 91.5 KIOS name and schedule, noting broadcast "Beginning November 15th." Pin holes at corners w/ink touch-ups at each hole w/pieces of tape on back at these areas as well as pull along top edge of back. Ink touch-up to .25" crease at lower right corner tip. Could be framed for VF display.
