Item Description
2x5-5/8x1" deep cardboard box w/hinged lid features generic children/toy illustrations inside and out (also issued in box w/Popeye graphics) and contains half flocked insert and 1.25x1.5" chrome luster metal case watch. No maker indicated and w/o copyright, but c. 1948. Box shows obvious aging/wear, w/all four corners of lid and two corners of box bottom split. VG. Dial design features image of Popeye from waist up at center w/usual numerals, portraits of Olive Oyl at 3 o'clock, Swee'Pea at 6 o'clock and Wimpy at 9 o'clock. This is variety w/o Popeye name on dial as officially issued. Case retains near full luster. Has original red vinyl-covered straps which show lt. wear. Running. VF. Rare watch.
