Item Description
17.75x22-5/8" mat contains illustration board w/mixed media original art for cover recreation of British Roy Rogers Cowboy Annual, originally published in 1955. Art is by Walt Howarth (1928-2008), a British illustrator best known for his work on numerous British comic annuals (most of them for World Distributors) in a career that spanned 60 years. Art has been matted to 11-3/8x16.25" and shows Roy Rogers in elaborate Western outfit, pulling pistol as he realizes he's being watched by Native Americans from atop cliff. Trigger can be seen in bkg. Art has hand-painted title. Howarth has signed his full name at lower left. Art shows some scattered line/marks in blue sky area, not affecting Roy Rogers or Trigger image. VF. Comes w/COA signed by Howarth.
