Item Description
Original 4-7/8x7" glossy silver gelatin photo depicting 13 team members in full uniform posed on a ball field. The 1922-23 Almendares team finished in fourth place in the Winter professional Cuban League w/a record of 17-27-3 under manager Jose Rodriguez. The club featured a number of Cuban/Negro League stars including: Bernardo Baro, Eugenio Morin, Armando Marsans, Valentin Dreke, Cheo Ramos, Isidro Fabre, Bartolo Portuondo and Eufemio Abreu. All player identifications are listed by last name in pencil on back. Reverse has 1" spot of paper adhered to each corner as once scrapbook mounted. Front has trace of handling wear and aging. Image remains sharp and distinct. Fine.
