Item Description
In Auction 232 we sold the pair of these in the 1" size. This pair is 1.25" and Book Examples #83 and #85 which are misidentified in the captions (but correctly in the notes) as 1.5". They are indeed 1.25" and Muchinsky states he knows the 1.25" size was sold at Dempsey-Tunney II at Soldiers Field, Chicago Sept. 22, 1927. Each button has matching union bug on reverse, no maker's name. Great, close-up photos. Slightest surface wear on Dempsey and less on Tunney. Exc. and NM. Rare. Paul Muchinsky Book Photo Examples.
