Item Description
29x37" frame w/12x18.75"partly-printed document. As governor of Massachusetts, Hancock appoints "Soloman Leland Esq." to be one of the "Justices To Keep The Peace In The County Of Worcester." Boldly signed at lower right "John Hancock" and countersigned at conclusion by junior secretary "John Avery." Document has three horizontal and one vertical fold w/tiny hole at top junction, scattered moisture and age toning most notably a ripple of light brown just right of signature at lower right. Retaining white wafer seal at top left. Fine. Signature has only trivial fade remaining bold and immediately noticeable, Exc. Not examined out of frame. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA. An outstanding example of perhaps the most iconic signature of any founding father in a conspicuous display that will stand out in any room.
