Item Description
9" wide by 8.5" tall tin litho w/built-in key. Marx, 1930s. This famous toy was produced in three different versions, this is the version w/"Marx Merry Makers" illustrated marquee on top of piano (attached via slots on back) and violinist figure seated atop piano. Great all over illustrations using mice and cat motifs. Mice band members in this version are drummer, piano player, violinist and dancer. Toy features great action and works, all mice move. Toy has all over noticeable fade to red portions and dust soiling. Front edge of key board has small dent and drumhead shows wear from player's hands. Toy is aged and exhibits scattered paint nick/scratches. VG/Fine overall.
