Item Description
24.25x25" printed cotton. A most unusual inverted color scheme featuring blue stripes w/red canton, now evenly faded to a milk chocolate brown. Hemmed along top and bottom edges. Striking portrait of Clay surrounded by 26 stars in canton. A .5x2" corner loss at top left affecting stars at edges. Left margin shows wear from attachment to flag staff. Scattered age toning most noticeable on white stripes. Fine. Text and image remain strong. While all pre-Civil War campaign flags are rare those featuring the candidates portrait are among the most coveted. This example will frame beautifully and be among the most exciting elements of any collection.
