Item Description
Smaller variety 4.75x7.25x1.5" deep nicely illustrated, full color box contains complete set by Acme Plastics Manufacturing Co. Inc. ©1948 National Comics Publications, Inc. Box lid features classic hands-on-hips pose of Superman w/additional image of either side w/city bkg. Side panels feature different action illustrations in a filmstrip style. Box comes w/original die-cut insert (featuring Superman images) and has some color touch-ups along edges. Insert holds 2.75" wide plastic filmstrip viewer and three boxed filmstrips (Superman Series No. 2, 3 and 4) and additional filmstrip. Perforated display lid is loose and missing top portion. Box shows scattered edge/corner tip wear and even aging. Insert has 7/8" tear. VG. This is the smaller of two sets produced. Each film box features great full body images of Superman on all four sides. One film box is missing portion of end flap and another box has nearly detached inner flap. All show scattered wear, mainly in the form of creases to inner flaps. VG to Fine. Viewer is Exc.
