6.75x8-5/8" double album w/24 pages. Published in Spain by Cropan, ©1975 Marvel Comics Group. Album was designed to hold extensive set of 80 different thin plastic cards that were issued individually in snack cake packages. Set features art by prolific and renowned Spanish Marvel Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí and features major hero and villain characters as well as more obscure characters. The complete set is offered and includes - Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Molten Man, Lizard, Doctor Octopus, Kraven The Hunter, Sandman, Vulture, Electro, Professor X, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Angel, Iceman, Beast, Magneto, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Punisher, Silver Surfer, Doctor Doom, Vision, Galactus, Sunfire, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Mister Fantastic, Human Torch, Thing, Invisible Woman, Medusa, Black Bolt, Karnak, Triton, Gorgon, Crystal, Darkoth, Unus The Untouchable, Ka-Zar, Witch-Woman, Black Widow, Gladiator, Moondragon, Hawkeye, Falcon, Madame Hydra, Kragon, Talon (Jim Steranko designed character rejected by Marvel), Loki, Hercules, Balder, Demon Druid, Mandarin, Titanium Man, Doctor Spectrum, Yellow Claw, Black Panther, Giant Man, Quicksilver, Swordsman, Enchantress, Black Knight, Nick Fury, Doctor Strange, Namor The Sub-Mariner, Conan, Red Sonja, King Kull, Protector, Warlock, Phantom Rider, Shang-Chi, Killraven, Captain Marvel, Gullivar Jones and Solomon Kane. These cards initially featured a coating covering the front of the card, in essence making them mystery cards that were to be revealed by the purchaser of the aforementioned snack cakes. This coating was rubbed off using cotton soaked in an alcohol-based liquid as per instructions. This has cause expected wear to some cards. Punisher, Kraven The Hunter, Human Torch, Black Bolt, Black Panther, Sub-Mariner, Conan, Killraven and Yellow Claw show obvious wear w/creasing/denting and are VG while rest show varying degrees of wear including a few w/creases and some scattered glue as cards were designed to be pasted into album. Fine to Exc. overall. Back portion of album is devoted to animated TV series character Vicky the Viking w/a six page section for cards. Back cover also features Vicky the Viking along w/inset Captain American portrait. No Vicky cards are included. Album shows scattered aging/handling wear w/pinch creases to spine and some margin soiling. First page has some glue on one sticker spot and an order/checklist page between the Marvel and Vicky sections has small pencil mark. Album is Fine overall. These cards are rare as a set w/equally rare album. First we've offered any of the cards or the album. A must-have for Marvel collectors.
