Item Description
1.25" w/concave metal back and horizontal pin. No manufacturers name or union bug. Perched eagle w/wings spread at bottom center w/tiny text below "Republican Nominees." This is the example pictured in the first Hake Encyclopedia Of Political Buttons book on p. 120 as Hake #18. Trapped dirt at edges under cello. A diagonal ridge across center w/scattered scratches in reflected light. Reverse has scattered cello separations and two tiny areas that are improperly tucked under collet. Fine. Construction indicates this was likely produced as a test for production. Given that this is the only example we have encountered in our 55 years it is likely the design never made it to full production. A special opportunity at a likely unique Hoover jugate.
