Item Description
11x17” sheet has lead pencil art of Clark Kent at typewriter daydreaming about Superman swimming with the mermaid Lori Lemaris. Nearby is Jerry Siegel with a stack of scripts, Joe Shuster, Wayne Boring himself holding a sketch of Superman, Perry White and Lois Lane. c. 1985. Art is unsigned but has a ballpoint note on back: “Charlie This Is The Grid For Your Office Pic! It’s About 60% Done – WB.” Sheet has red inked grid pattern on front and was mailed with horizontal fold through center. Strip of clear tape on reverse. Fine appearance. Nice images by classic Golden/Silver Age Superman artist who began his career in 1938 as an assistant to Joe Shuster.
