Item Description
1x1.25x1.75" enamel w/transfer on lid. Admiral Lord Howe defeated the Brest fleet of Admiral Villaret-Joyeuse at the Battle of the Glorious 1st June in 1794, in the first major naval conflict of the French Revolution. Additional text on lid below a depiction of the battle reads "On The 1st Of June, 1794." The victory gave Great Britain the command of the sea for the next 20 years. Scattered fractures appear over the lid w/tiny loss of enamel at 6 o'clock. Pink base has two tiny chips of missing enamel and has moderate wear. Inside lid has mirror insert w/moderate silver loss. Original hinge and color remain intact. VG. Rare.
