Item Description
3.5" wide. Lid featuring portrait w/text "Oliver H. Perry Of The Untied States Navy" around circumference. One tiny edge chip at 7 o'clock. Otherwise lid remains glossy and free of crazing or blisters as is often the case. The base depicts a naval battle captioned "Victory Of Lake Erie/Reported By The American Over The English The 10th Of Sept 1813..." followed by detailed description of the battle. Three tiny edge chips are mentioned for accuracy not affecting the illustration or text. Overall minimal wear especially for a snuff box of this age. Extremely Fine. A fine artifact of the important naval leader and his conquest during the War of 1812.
