Item Description
8.5" long inc. brass shell eagle hanger and metallic fringe. Reverse has "L. Helwig Badges Chicago" label. Applied albumen portrait framed by laurel wreath at center w/additional text "David B. Hill National Democratic Convention Chicago 1892" below. Moderate even age to red silk w/scattered wear to gold text. VF. Rare. The former Gov. was backed by the Tammany machine as he challenged his fellow NY political rival Grover Cleveland for the nomination garnering 114 votes on the first ballot.
