Item Description
Large 11x15.75x1.75" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains Set No. 253H, which consists of eight Action Pictures featuring Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, Thor, Captain America, Sub-Mariner and Silver Surfer as well as 10 Sparkle Paints. Kenner, ©1966 Marvel Comics Group. Each lid side panel features one or two character image(s). Another, smaller set (Set No. 153H) was also released, but had less Action Pictures and colors as well as featuring less characters (Sub-Mariner and Silver Surfer being added to the larger set offered here). Silver Surfer Action Picture is main featured image on lid (as opposed to Captain America, which was featured on smaller set). Thor and Daredevil art are original versions, which were replaced on updated 1967 reissue. Box has original store price sticker on bottom side panel and remains tightly factory-sealed w/some seam splits to shrink-wrap and inward warp to lid w/creases along left. Corners also have some creasing. Fine overall. Factory-sealed w/unused contents. Rare.
