Item Description
6.25x9.25" and 8.5x11". First is "A Century Of Campaign Buttons 1789-1889" by J. Doyle DeWitt. First edition w/minor fading along spine. Otherwise only light wear. Exc. Second is hardcover version of the first Hake book. From author Ted Hake: "When I published the first color reference book on campaign items in 1974, I had 100 copies converted from soft cover to hard cover. I signed and numbered each. On the second blank page I wrote: 'Ted Hake/Book 35 Of An Edition Of 100.'" Original fabric cover mounted to new hard cover board and w/restored binding. Some loss of the gold color used for stamping the title. Otherwise light wear from minimal use. The book features full color illustrations of 4,000 pin-back buttons and similar small items. The black and white reprint is available but this all-color hard cover is rare and the soft cover edition of 15,000 has long been sold out.
