Item Description
1.25" w/"Made By Crescent Art Gallery K.C. Mo." on lower curl. Only light wear under magnification. NM. Bryan's portrait is set against a metallic silver moon eclipsing McKinley set against a gold metallic sun. This design features candidates' portraits and text in blue ink, w/the addition of metallic ink for moon, sun and extending rays. See preceding lot for black ink variety. While we have encountered both designs previously these buttons are so rare (a population of less than 10 specimens combined) that we have never seen them next to one another and to our knowledge these design differences have never been fully noted. An exciting discovery and special opportunity at a pair of premier 1900 campaign buttons. We set a world auction record for the matching jugate variety produced by Cresent Art Gallery in our last auction at $32,450.
